Hungry Hungry Narcos: Cops filmed eating marijuana edibles during dispensary raid

A group of Orange County police officers brought national attention on themselves when they raided a Santa Ana dispensary only to grub on the shop’s selection of marijuana edibles.

Video of the officers quickly went viral in June, as the collective’s lawyer, Matthew Pappas, released edited footage to point out the officers’ questionable behavior, KTLA-TV originally reported.

Aside from the officers’ snack-time, one female officer was filmed one of the dispensary’s customers — a disabled amputee patient.

“I was about to kick her in her f—ing nub,” the officer was caught saying.

But the editing of the footage has led some to conclude that the video was craftily cut just to make it seem as if they were eating the store inventory.

“I don’t know if that’s [a marijuana] edible. Where did [the officer] get it?” said Santa Ana Police Chief Carlos Rojas in a June interview with Voice of OC. “Is that a protein bar or an edible?”

That “protein bar” can now be confirmed as an actual pot edible from full and unedited footage of the dispensary raid obtained by the OC Weekly.

The Weekly reports that while officers were busy tossing the shop’s product into boxes for evidence, one of the officers specifically mentions “safe number two,” remarking that “There are some pretty good looking chocolate bars back there.”

The officer then appears to remove something from the safe and returns to the lobby only to unwrap the medicated chocolate and share it with three of his fellow officers.

“Those candy bars are pretty good,” one officer is heard saying. “I kinda feel light-headed though.”

The Weekly has not released the video for public viewing, which is said to contain hours of surveillance footage from four separate cameras.

For now, the edited version can still be viewed on YouTube.
