Strawberry Cough Vape Cartridge by Highly Concentrated
In this golden age of cannabis, patients can be picky when it comes to their medicines.
Do you like the forest taste of pine, or do you prefer a fruity flavor? Do you want a medication that hits right away, or one that perhaps takes a bit longer to settle in? Is flower your preferred substance, or do you know prefer the experience of a vape cartridge?
In the case of Highly Concentrated’s Strawberry Cough, the initial experience does not accurately portend its surprisingly strong finish. With a flavor bursting with artificial sweetness, this is not the strawberry you’ll find at your local farmer’s market. Closer to a Starburst than anything grown in soil, the taste isn’t unpleasant, but perhaps a tad more sugary than I prefer.
Finding flavors that work for you can be quite an exhausting process, but there is something to be said for the fact that vape cartridges — unlike their flower counterparts — are never going to fully embody a strain’s terpene profile in quite the same way. Getting too upset about how a given vape cartridge tastes is in some ways akin to calling out the quality of beef at a fast-food chain. If you want filet mignon, don’t eat there.
My first experience with this cartridge was quite the revelation.
After two medium but not massive drags, I was surprised at how subtle the effects of the oil were. A slight body high came on first, relaxing and gentle. But as the minutes passed, the true strength of Highly Concentrated’s recipe was revealed. By the time the medicine had taken full effect, I was toast.
While in no way uncomfortable or unpleasant, the punch of this cartridge is strong, strong, strong. It’s not the kind of thing I would want to hit before a long hike, a day wandering the city, or basically anything where one would need to “fight against” the effects of their medicine.
Fortunately, the entirety of my plans consisted of a bowl of cereal and a viewing of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, a plan that paired brilliantly with this rather potent cartridge.
Reducing my intake by half the following evening, I found the power of the oil lessened, but not the wait time. While I can’t be certain of the chemistry, this does appear be derived from a strain that simple takes a few beats longer to really work itself into the endocannabinoid system and take hold. That means for those that desire a product that can instantly alter their moods, they may prefer an alternative that acts faster.
But if you have some patience — and, ideally, a great superhero movie and snacks — you’re likely to find plenty to like about this formidable formula.
The Highly Concentrated Strawberry Cough vape cartridge is available from Berkeley Patients Group and retails for $40.
