Where you can buy marijuana on Jan. 1

Marijuana can be sold legally to anyone over 21 on Jan. 1, but only a tiny number of Bay Area dispensaries have been granted the business licenses necessary to do so. San Francisco dispensaries won’t begin selling until Jan. 5, 2018, but Oakland, Berkeley, and San Jose have dispensaries and delivery services selling the sticky-icky on New Year’s Day. We’ve listed the Bay Area dispensaries selling marijuana on Jan. 1 below, making a special note of those who will be open for business at the crack of 6 a.m.

Note: This list will be updated regularly, as the California Bureau of Cannabis Control is granting new licenses by the hour. More dispensaries will be added as that magic day approaches, so check back on SF Weekly.
