Berkeley’s CRAFT Collective sweeps SF Patients’ Choice awards
The Bay Area medical cannabis community has spoken, and they prefer their medical marijuana from the CRAFT Collective.
The 9th annual San Francisco Patients’ Choice handed out awards on Saturday recognizing the finest cannabis products currently found throughout Bay Area dispensaries. The patient-judged competition awarded boutique delivery service CRAFT Collective first place in all flower categories, Smell the Truth reports.
The Berkeley-based collective swept all first place flower awards with their Super Lemon Haze (Sativa), Tahoe Chem (Hybrid), Raspberry Cookies (Indica), and CBD OG (High CBD). CRAFT’s champion artisanal strains won off the strength of pungent terpenes and high THC percentages, as well as being eco-friendly.
All of CRAFT’s strains are certified by Clean Green, an independent, 3rd-party certification cannabis growers can obtain to prove that their flowers are sustainably grown and pesticide free.
The ceremony held at SOMA’s Terra Gallery has become one of the Bay Area’s most successful cannabis events, pairing local food and entertainment with the region’s most renowned providers and cultivators of high-grade medical cannabis.
IncrediMeds nearly matched CRAFT’s dominance in their respective field for cannabis-infused edibles by taking home prizes for best Indica (Milk Chocolate Bar with Toffee Pieces), Sativa (Dark Chocolate Bar with Almond and Sea Salt, and higest CBD (Milk Chocolate Bar with Coconut Chips) edibles. They fell one award shy of sweeping all edible categories, with Madame Munchie taking 1st place Hybrid edible award for their Artisanal Cannabis Macaroons.
In their grand tradition, the Patients’ Choice awards were chosen by Bay Area patients themselves. Anyone who purchased a judges pack — which costs several hundred dollars — was eligible to vote in the competition.
